Carolyn Williams launched her college advising private practice in 2007 to give students the individualized attention they need to make the most of the college admission process. Each year she visits dozens of colleges in an effort to help students find their fit. Carolyn has worked in education for over twenty years. An award-winning educator, she has established programs and designed curricula at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School, Basalt High School, and George School (PA).

Prior to developing her private practice, Carolyn spent several years directing the college counseling program at Colorado Rocky Mountain School. Recently, she worked with the Aspen Community Foundation to launch college and career programming in Basalt High School. Earlier in her career, she directed the international student programs at both George School in Pennsylvania and at CRMS. Carolyn also recruited students abroad as an admission officer for CRMS. Carolyn’s interest in working with international students originated from her experience teaching at Surin Teacher’s College in Thailand. Carolyn is a certified English and history teacher, and completed her student teaching at F.A. Day Middle School in Newton, MA outside of Boston.
Carolyn’s passion for the outdoors brought her to Carbondale, CO, where she now lives with her husband, Greg, and children, Sage and Luke. She enjoys mountain living and is an avid road biker, trail runner, Nordic and alpine skier, yogi, climber, and cross fitter.
Carolyn graduated from Dartmouth College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in history, before earning a Master of Education from Harvard University. Carolyn is a professional member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), the National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC), and an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).
